Key Stage 1
Welcome to Key Stage 1!
My name is Mrs Hague and I am thrilled to be the Key Stage 1 Leader at St Elisabeth's. I teach class 1/2H and Miss Bresnahan and Miss Wolstencroft are our Teaching Assistants. In Year 1, we have Miss Price as the class teacher with Miss Williams as Teaching Assistant. Ms King teaches the Year 2 class teacher, with Mr Paterson as the Teaching Assistant. With year one being a big jump from Reception with lots of new learning, our classrooms are filled with be the foundation of memorable and meaningful learning experiences which cater to all learning styles.
In our classrooms we support each other and work as a collaborative team, as throughout the year we will be challenging ourselves more than ever before and if we make mistakes, that’s okay! Now that you are the oldest children in KS1 we will be looking out for you setting a good example for the younger children with good manners, tidy uniform and a sensible attitude.
All our staff believe in making learning fun and have lots of exciting activities planned for you this year, so make sure you come to school each day ready to stretch your brain in new directions! Remember, every mistake we make will be with ever-increasing progress and opportunities to reflect on our learning journey. What we learn with pleasure, we never forget. Let’s make some memories!
Assessing Attainment
Assessing children’s attainment in maths, reading, writing and Science in all Years is against a set of skills which are known as Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). There are sets of KPI’s for all year groups and at the end of the school year your child’s class teacher will analyse the attainment and progress made by your child against every KPI so that they can award them an overall Grade.
