Welcome to Lower Key Stage 2! My name is Mrs Millen and I am the phase leader for both Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2.  I teach in Year 6.  This year in Year 3 and Year 4 we will be learning about fascinating topics in lots of exciting ways.  In Year 3, we have Mr McQuillan and Mrs Evans and Mrs Brunker are the Teaching Assistants in there; in Year 3/4 is Mrs Wells and Miss Moffat and the Teaching Assistant is Mrs Kelly and in Year 4, Mrs Batson is the class teacher with Mrs Dolan as the Teaching Assistant.   We aspire to be active, independent, resilient and creative learners. In our phase we are proud of our achievements; we encourage one another and work as a team.  Throughout the year we will continually develop our ability to take risks, question, persevere, solve and reflect through a variety of exciting topics.  We will be authors of own super stories using our wonderful writing skills and maths whizzes by practising our very catchy times tables songs.  I look forward to the challenge and excitement that Year 3 and 4 will share together.

Assessing children’s attainment in maths, reading, writing and Science in all Years is against a set of skills which are known as Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).   There are sets of KPI’s for all year groups and at the end of the school year your child’s class teacher will analyse the attainment and progress made by your child against every KPI so that they can award them an overall Grade.
