St Elisabeth's CE Primary School

Upper Key Stage 2

Hello and welcome to Upper Key Stage 2.  I am Mrs Millen and am Upper Key Stage 2 Phase Leader, with responsibility for leading English  across the school.  In my team we have Miss Jones in 6J with Mr Bridge and Mrs L Parker as the Teaching Assistants; Mrs Lancashire and Mrs Charlesworth teach in 5LC and Mrs Hallworth is the Teaching Assistant,  with myself teaching Year 5/6M supported by Mrs Mullins our Teaching Assistant.   In Year 6, we take great pride in being one of the oldest classes in the school. Consequently, we have a responsibility to set a very good example to all other year groups both in our work ethic and our behaviour. We aim to work both cooperatively and independently to achieve the best we can, always stretching ourselves to aim higher. Along with the children’s prefect roles, comes the responsibility of presenting themselves as exemplary pupils who understand the value of good behaviour and manners. We also like to put as much effort into having fun and enjoying all the amazing opportunities that Year 6 has to offer.

Assessing Attainment

Assessing children’s attainment in maths, reading, writing and Science in all Years is against a set of skills which are known as Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).   There are sets of KPI’s for all year groups and at the end of the school year your child’s class teacher will analyse the attainment and progress made by your child against every KPI so that they can award them an overall Grade.
